The Del Close Marathon, or DCM, is an improv staple. Every year, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre celebrates the father of modern long form improv, Del Close, by throwing a three day, non-stop improv festival in New York City. Celebrities come out to amaze with performances in primetime slots, but after midnight, DCM puts up “bit shows”: 5-15 minute shows with fun/ridiculous themes. These shows aren’t famous people or established improv teams; these shows are bonded together by the love of improv.
And by a pun. A lot of bit shows are based on puns.
I’m Jake Green. And I’m here to help my friend, Dave Ebert, get his show idea into the 18th annual Del Close Marathon.
In the past, performers could submit as many bit shows as they liked. However, this year, for the first time, UCB has instated a $5 submission fee.
But Dave doesn’t have $5.
If you help us reach our goal of $5 (USD), Dave can submit his idea for a bit show. But we’re not stopping there - in fact, for every five dollars we raise above our goal, Dave will submit another pun-based bit show idea.
That’s right: unlike most fundraisers and charities, you can rest assured knowing 100% of all donations are going directly towards submitting bit shows for DCM.

$1,000 - YOU SUBMIT AN IDEA, YOUR ENTIRE TEAM ROSTER, AND WE SUBMIT A SHOW WHERE EVERY THIRD LINE MUST INCORPORATE YOUR NAME. IT’S CALLED “THIRD TIME’S A [YOUR NAME]-PROV.” WE ALSO SUBMIT 198 OTHER SHOW IDEAS.
Can we let the lack of $5 stop this brilliant man from submitting his ideas? No. We can’t.
