Due to the tragic situation our people continue to endure in Iraq and Syria, thousands of children are still homeless. Once again, they will have no Christmas, no church mass, no presents.
I urge you to donate anything you can, because it truly goes a long way. This may be only a moment of joy for our children, even if it is brief, it will mean the world to them. Help me create "Christmas in the Camps" !
California Gishru Director, Suzan Younan of Modesto, CA, will be purchasing the Christmas presents, and will hand deliver them to our children in the camps.
She will be collaborating with non-profits and churches on the ground such as Assyrian Aid Society and Samaritans Purse. This will be Suzan Younan's second trip to Iraq since the invasion of ISIS, and her 9th time since 2008.
In recent years, Suzan Younan expanded her humanitarian skills. Suzan, along with her close friends and colleagues, co-founded GISHRU, a 501-C3 organization that coordinates educational, cross-cultural trips to Northern Iraq for American and other international students. GISHRU has been a bridge between the Middle East's young professionals and their next generation counterparts in America, Europe, and Australia.
