I'm Christina Oberly - a junior at Grand Valley State University majoring in Advertising/Public Relations.
This past year I joined Grand Valley’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) to support and further my Professional Development in the field of Advertising. The PRSSA club gives students a multitude of opportunities to make professional connections, National Conference being the biggest event. National Conference is an annual conference in the US, and PRSSA clubs from all around the country attend for the chance to network, learn, and develop professional skills. After researching the costs of registering for and traveling to the conference, I have found that this great opportunity for growth and development comes at a hefty price. As a college student working to pay my tuition and rent, I just don't have the disposal income to fund this extra but crucial learning opportunity.
In an attempt to get a head start, my goal is to raise enough money to fund my registration and trip to next year’s national conference, as well as to fund other PD opportunities in PRSSA throughout the year. Each opportunity gives me a chance to connect personally with professionals from all around the country and could lead to internships and other career opportunities, which is incredibly important to me. Any small donation could help open so many doors for my future career! Your support is SO appreciated!
