Chandler's Guatemala Study Abroad
Chandler has been through a lot. Born with a severe bilateral cleft lip and palate, he has undergone 21 surgeries. From bone grafts from both hips and ribs to a tongue lip adhesion (it is indeed as terrible as it sounds), this incredible boy has been through more pain and suffering than anyone should ever have to experience.
Missing weeks of school at a time for each of his surgeries, Chandler managed to skip fourth grade and continues to work hard and excel in school. After all he's been through and before he begins intense craniofacial orthodontia next year, I want to give him this unforgettable experience this summer.
Chandler has the opportunity to spend one month on a study abroad this summer. During his time in this beautiful country, Chandler will experience a different culture, assist at a medical clinic, volunteer in an orphanage, work on a farm, visit the ocean, walk on a black sand beach, enjoy museums, explore ruins, hike a volcano, help students practice their English, and many more adventures.
We are asking for your help in providing this experience for our boy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity in making this dream come true for him.

I read the blog article and found my heart aching for both mother and son. This world can be so cruel. I hope Chandler has an amazing adventure this summer and that he sees his own infinite value. I have 2 redheaded sisters.. and red hair is amazing! Please tell him that he matters, even to strangers.
I don't have money to contribute at this time. I just want to say in the above picture Chandler is a fine looking young man. I will pray that he does well in the Charter school. Going to Guatemala is such a great opportunity. God Bless your family!
My dad helped to build a school in Guatemala...the Light & Life School - Saquil. That would be great if you could visit there! I was bullied when I was in middle school and high school. Chandler, I am SO proud of you for continuing to move forward in life. You ROCK Chandler!!!
Go Chandler!!! I am excited for your opportunity and hope only good things to come for you!!!
