"CALLING ALL ROLLER DERBY FANS!!!
Big. Small. Short. Tall. All ages. Near & far.

The sassy sweethearts of Wilmington's Cape Fear Roller Girls are looking for a new venue to call home and we need your help!

We have been fortunate enough to call the Schwartz Center home for hosting games for the past few years, but due to a scheduled remodel project, this location will not be available for our use for our 2017 season. We are taking this obstacle & turning it into an opportunity for growth and expansion. Our own facility will allow us a place to practice & train, hold games, and continue to grow as a league for our upcoming season and help to secure a location for generations of future roller derby girls.

2017 will be our 12th season and is shaping up to be the best one yet. This is partially due to the support of our amazing & loyal fans. Without you, we couldn't play the sport we love so much.

In exchange for your generosity, we will immortalize you on our "WALL OF THANKS" at our new facility. Remember... No donation is too big or too small.

Here is some valuable information about the Cape Fear Roller Girls.

The Cape Fear Roller Girls are Wilmington’s premier women’s flat track roller derby league. The league is made up of strong, independent women of all ages and from all walks of life.   The Cape Fear Roller Girls, founded in 2005 with only a few members, worked diligently to be rewarded as a member of the worldwide Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). They earned this coveted honor in 2010.  Currently they maintain this honor with more than thirty members.

As a skater owned and operated nonprofit organization, the Cape Fear Roller Girls pride themselves on being a league “for the skaters, by the skaters.”  The Cape Fear Roller Girls are dedicated to the development of member athleticism and encourage the physical, mental and emotional training needed while respecting and valuing the individual strengths each member contributes to the league.  All of our skaters are passionate about community development and are actively involved in improving the areas in which we live.

Our skaters and volunteers are unfaltering in their efforts on and off the track to develop and maintain a positive, supportive league and community by contributing both time and money to other non-profit organizations.  We are proud to represent Wilmington at home and on the road while competing in the remarkable sport of roller derby.

The Cape Fear Roller Girls aim to provide quality, entertaining, and family friendly events that benefit the entire community.  A percentage of the proceeds from each home bout are donated to a local (charitable) nonprofit organization. Over $15,000 has been donated towards making our community a better place..

Contrary to popular belief, those involved in modern day roller derby are not paid.  In fact, events are handled by devoted fans, volunteers, and skaters.  Proceeds from ticket sales, merchandise, and league fees are used to cover various organization expenses such as venue rental, travel costs, training facility use, and uniforms.

Sponsors and community involvement are extremely important to the success of the Cape Fear Roller Girls.  Roller Derby provides a unique local, exciting, and family friendly sporting event at a reasonable price.
