Ryan and I (Natalie) have shared a passion for faith, each other, family and raising up children for the Lord since we married in 2006. We always hoped we would be blessed to have biological children AND adopt children.
Fast-forward to 2011 and we have been blessed with three precious souls to raise. A son, and two daughters. We decided at this point that we were prepared to start our adoption journey.
We began our journey as a local foster family (and are continuing this work) but we prayed and felt God leading us down a different path. Leading us to a war-torn country where poverty, illness, and fear reigns. And here our journey to bring our precious girl, God's precious girl, home, truly begins. We are blessed by each and every prayer and donation...thank you for being a part of "our girl's" adoption story and journey home.
Working to bring OUR GIRL home from Congo ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far! Through t-shirts and donations...every dollar helps. We are so BLESSED!
Our immediate goal is to move OUR GIRL from the orphanage to a much safer foster home. We have the Intent to Adopt papers ready, and these will allow us to move her into foster care. We have $6,000 but are working hard to raise the $6,000 MORE needed to proceed . So we're working hard to save, cut corners, and fundraise, fundraise, fundraise! We want to move her to foster care within a week or 2. Once we have the funds we will get her placed in foster care with two other children that will also be calling Paducah their FOREVER home.
Currently OUR GIRL is in an orphanage in Congo. The orphanages there are underfunded and understaffed, unable to meet the children's needs of food, clothing, medical care, and education. Some statistics report that 25% of the children in Congo are underweight, 1 in 7 Congolese children will die before reaching age five, and on average 700 children under 5 years old die DAILY. Approximately half of the deaths under the age of 5 can be attributed to malnutrition and nutrient deficiencies.
Adoption WILL NOT solve the complexity of problems that Congo faces. But, it is ONE solution that will provide precious souls with the love, support, and security of a family. It will provide OUR GIRL, beloved by God, with this.
1 PETER 4:10-"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."
Not everyone is called to adopt. But Ryan and I, and our family, have been called to this service. God has reminded us of it in so many ways each and every day. Prompting us and moving us along this path.
Please consider helping us along this journey to get OUR GIRL home by donating here.
