Charm City Farm Tractor

$1,080 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 24 people in 12 months
Charm City Farms (CCF) is committed to serve as a model farm for people who want to learn about urban agriculture and affordable ways to live a healthier life. The surrounding local community also has direct access to the agricultural resources and the educational resources provided by on-site seminars and workshops. Access to affordable farm fresh produce in the City of Baltimore has served as a beacon for residents to welcome CCF and its opportunities to better serve the community. Owner, Eric Kelly takes community development by means of urban agriculture as a personal responsibility and makes CCF’s duty to serve the community its mission.  Charm City Farms continues the initiative within Baltimore to turn unused urban spaces and vacant lots into productive, food-bearing gardens, serving and engagingCharm City Farms the local communities while bridging food gaps.

Charm City Farms intends on making a further impact on the surrounding Baltimore inner city with the cooperative purchase of much needed farming equipment.

With collective donations from the community, CCF intends to purchase a tractor. This tractor will be community funded, so in turn the community will have an opportunity to use this farming equipment (as needed basis). The tractor will be housed on location at CCF and will further develop the home-site landscape that will produce more for the Charm City community. This tractor will make the necessary tasks possible to accomplish without the work many people with shovels and pitch-forks just won’t be able to accomplish alone.
