For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Bubba Wallace, I'm from Charlotte, NC and am a driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Following our most recent race at Daytona, my emotions got the best of me, and I took to social media to vent. Looking back, that was not the best time or way to express myself. As a result, I was fined by the sanctioning body – something I take full responsibility for.
I was blown away by how many of you followed this on social media and then offered to assist me. After seeing the support from my fans, and fans of the sport, I thought there was a way we could turn this incident into a positive cause. We could take this positive energy, and willingness to give, and put it towards an even better organization - or at least try to.
With that being said, for those of you that were considering making a donation towards me, I ask that you instead support this GoFundMe account, where we will be raising money for The Greenbrier Resort's "Neighbors Loving Neighbors campaign," which assists West Virginia's flood victims. After hearing about all this organization has done for these victims, I was truly touched, and wanted to assist them in their efforts.
ALL proceeds will be given to this organization, as they could use our assistance during these times of repair. With over 20 lives taken, and over 1,200 homes destroyed, the state needs our help.
If you are still in a giving mood, I encourage you to help me spread the word, and assist me in donating to this cause. Any amount helps this state in their time of need.
