Rocio Neilson  BEAVERTON, OR
In 2009 I was surprised to learn that after trying for nearly two years, Hunter and I were expecting our first child!  That November, little Max finally joined our family.  Being Max's parents has been the greatest blessing in our life.  Max has always expressed that he wanted siblings and we knew that we wanted to grow our family.  Despite years of trying to conceive, this dream has yet to become a reality.  We were facing a choice- do we pursue treatment for infertility or should we adopt?  Our answer would soon come...

In November of 2015, while browsing on Facebook, I saw a picture of a little boy whom I instantly felt connected to. The little boy had spent much of his seven years living in an orphanage in China and was looking for a forever family.  Hunter and I have always known, even before our struggles with infertility, that we would someday adopt and in that instant I knew that this was our child. The following night, while sitting together on the couch, Hunter mentioned  that he may have found our child. To my delight, it was the same little boy that I had found the day before.  At that moment, we decided that adoption would be our path.

A month later, we had locked Bodhi for adoption.
During this time we learned that Bodhi  was found in a park at nine months of age and was cared for in a police station untill finally being placed in the orphanage at 18 months. He is considered special needs due to problems with his vision that may be corrected with surgery in the United States.

Over the past ten months we have devoted much of our time and energy to brining him home.  After taking all the classes, gathering all our documents and by the end of this month spending nearly $15,000 on agency and home study fees as well as various other expenses we are almost ready to bring Bodhi home.  We are actively trying to save to bring him home as soon as possible but the expenses are quickly pilling up.  If you are able please consider donating so we can finally bring Bodhi home.  Your donations will help cover in-country adoption fees, China third party fees, immigration expenses and travel expenses.  Your support is greatly appreciated!

We are very excited! On Saturday we received the immigration approval that we were waiting on. Today putt agency sent all the necessary documents to be delivered to the consulate in China to get Bodhi's visa. We now wait for the U.S. consulate in China to process our Article 5 which is a letter they will send to the CCCW letting them now we are approved as suitable adoptive parents and that Bodhi will be able to enter and reside permanently in the United States. After all that we will receive our travel approval and we can finally go and pick up our boy. If no delays hopefully all this will be done in a month. We are extremely excited and won't lie a bit nervous but over all excited. Thanks again for everyone that has been following our journey and helped us along the way we truly appreciate all of you.

We had a bit of a delay submitting our LSC being that it was issued with my maiden name. We were waiting to see if it could be changed but unfortunately it cannot since that is how it appears in my Mexican passport. But at least we were able to sign and send our LSC today and get things moving again :) Thanks again to and everyone else that I may have forgotten to tag for helping us through this process by donating, buying one of our t-shirts or just by sharing our page. We truly appreciate it!

We received our LSC (letter seeking confirmation) today!!! For those of you that don't know much about the adoption process this is the official referral and approval from China to adopt Bodhi! Our next step is filing more immigration paper work so we can bring Bodhi to the US. We need to file for our son's visa, request an appointment with the consulate in China then China will invite us to travel to pick up our son. I can't believe we've been working on bringing our son home for 16 months and if everything keeps moving smoothly we will get to finally meet him in a couple of months. You would think after 16 months 2 months would feel like nothing but they will be the longest couple of months ever! We still need your help if you can donate or share our link we will truly appreciate it. Thank you so much to those of you that have already helped by sharing and donating.
