BGM NYC Benefit Concert

This campaign was created by Founder, Shydeia Caldwell and Co Founder Na'Chanelle Brown with the hearts and minds of Black Girl Magik supporters in mind. We hope to invest in the lives of our BGM community by our efforts of engagement and encouragement. We will be collecting donations for a benefit concert we will be hosting on New Year's  in NYC from now until Christmas.

Here at Black Girl Magik, we have found that many cities across the globe lack resources of healing and nurturing for women of color. Try to take a moment to reflect and answer this question: where is consistent, ongoing support available in your city for young, minority women? In a Black Girl Magik meetup we promote sisterhood, self-love, as well as healthy communication through exercises focused on self-realization and expression. Our meetups encourage the empowerment of women of color through a variation of motivational speakers and advice segments. Through Black Girl Magik, women can gain a grave sense of enlightenment of their divine nature. BGM supporter Desirée attended her first Black Girl Magik meetup in July where she expressed, "Every woman of color, living in the society that we live in today, needs this type of community. No way else can you recognize the immense power and magik we possess in our unity. BGM helps us all to appreciate the divine magik that we were created with. Sometimes this only happens when you get a chance to look into another sister's eye and realize she is your reflection."

We aim to take individuals on a soul-searching journey while helping them gain respect and trust for one another. In society's time of spiritual and emotional trial, there needs to exist more platforms that award opportunities for positive social engagement and BGM aims to be just that.

If 100 people donate only $10, we will have met our goal to assist us in hosting an ethereal event for amazing women of color! Any amount though is greatly appreciated.
