Who we are:
Bellaire High School’s Volleyball Team, one of the most elite high school volleyball programs in Houston. We currently have a total of 38 players on our Varsity, Jr. Varsity and Freshman teams.
The Bellaire Cardinal Volleyball teams has won district 14 times in the last 15 years, making the playoffs in each of the last 15 years. Before the district competition began this season, Head Volleyball Coach, Ap Clarke, notched her 500th match win while at Bellaire High School. She has been named District 20-6A Coach of the Year 13 times. In the last four years, at least 8 Bellaire High alumni are competing on college volleyball teams.
We need your help. As you know, funding across public school for sports and extracurricular activities is extremely limited; funding from HISD for Volleyball has been nearly eliminated. Please review our needs on the next page and consider making a donation. Each player is being asked to gather $160. This money will go toward uniforms, equipment and fees for tournaments and referees. In short, without this funding, the Lady Cardinal Volleyball would not be competitive. Listed below are the examples of costs that the Bellaire Volleyball Booster Club needs to raise for the team. These are costs that HISD will not cover but that are necessary for the Lady Cardinal Volleyball Program to remain competitive. Lack of funding in years past has been taken on by the Booster Club so that Coach Ap and the other coaches can concentrate on leading the teams to victory. So, as in years past, we are turning to the families of our players and our supporters to make up the deficit.
