Send Hugs to Oklahoma

On May 20 several horrible tornadoes hit areas surrounding Oklahoma City. Hundreds of homes were lost, and tens of thousands of people were affected. Thousands of them were kids.
When I heard the news I was so sad. Then, when I heard there was a no fly zone established over the destroyed schools, so the sounds of the airplanes wouldn't muffle the sound of the kids' voices calling for help, I was heart broken. I had to do something.
I started collecting bears and other stuffed animals to send to Oklahoma. I wanted to help as many kids as possible feel a little better, have something to hug. Feel safe again.
I have partnered with Airline Ambassadors (www.airlineamb.org) to hand deliver the bears and other things I have collected for the families. I will be meeting with a team out there, the Twister Resistors, who have been helping with clean up and relief efforts.
They are helping me to make sure I can get the donations directly to the kids involved.
I am also putting together a party to hold for the kids who have been affected by the tornadoes. I want to help them have fun, unwind, and maybe even forget everything they have lost, even if only for a little while.
But I can't do this alone. I need help with the funds to get back to OK, to ship the items back (I even have donations coming in from as far away as FL, and I'm in NV!) to the victims so they can be delivered.
The really neat thing about my partnerships is all they are allowing me to do. Because this is an officially sanctioned mission through Airline Ambassadors all donations are tax deductible.
Because I am working with the Twister Resistors I will be able to go to ground zero and help out with relief efforts, and even be present at a memorial held at Plaza Towers Elementary School.
