Help support adoption of Baby Brown

After suffering four miscarriages, my sister and her husband finally got the best news.... they were having a healthy baby boy, who’s name was to be Sebastian. Time was their enemy, and slowly through the pregnancy, the news kept getting worse. Every doctor’s appointment came with worse news, their boy was not growing at the rate he should have been. At 24 weeks, my sister’s doctor told her to prepare to stay in the hospital. As she arrived and checked in, they took her and Sebastian’s vitals. The news continued to get worse. I quickly got a text from my mom that the doctor was delivering Sebastian ASAP, and so I flew to the hospital. Thank God, I made it before they wheeled my crying sister back for the Caesarian section. We did all we could to tell her that everything was going to be ok.

Tiff made it through the surgery just fine, but baby Sebastian was struggling for life. He was behind almost 4 weeks in growth, so when he was born, he was born 9 ounces in weight. He was the smallest baby born at the hospital to date. That sweet angel stayed with us for 27 hours, fighting through crashed heart rates almost every hour. God took him out of his pain the next day, and he left us behind with broken hearts that felt like they would never mend.

Sebastian obviously had the strength my sister had. I don’t know how, but after months of grieving, she and her husband have made the decision to adopt and move on trying to be parents. Miraculously, after contacting an attorney, within one week of their search, they were matched with a birth mother. They quickly put their life story together to present to the mother. She liked what she saw, and they were chosen out of multiple couples. Oddly enough, the baby will be born on Sebastian’s birth day!

Since we got this wonderful news, we also found out that the hospital bills for Sebastian were not covered on insurance because they did not add him to their insurance during the 27 hours that he was alive while Tiff was healing from her surgery, and her and her husband were trying to digest the news.

Adoption costs, on top of paying the enormous bills for Sebastian, have become overwhelming for these two hard working high school teachers. Please donate to a great cause for two awesome people finally getting to be parents!!!
