2017: Our Continued Strength
Donation protected
The Boston International Turner Syndrome Summit (BITSS) is a week-long summer program in Boston, Massachusetts for young women aged 12-19 with Turner syndrome. We are a nonprofit organization run by women with TS and mothers of daughters with TS. BITSS is dedicated to giving teens with Turner Syndrome the opportunity to meet others from around the globe facing the same challenges and build a strong, confident community together. We are proud to be sponsored by the Turner Syndrome Society of the United States.
My name is Elizabeth Wheeler, and I am the treasurer on BITSS's Board of Directors. I want young women to have an opportunity that I never had as a teen: to meet others with TS. I want our attendees to realize that they are far from alone. TS is rare (occuring in 1 in 2500 women), so girls growing up with it often feel isolated.
We are looking for funds to send two teenagers with TS to our week long summer program who, due to family finances, would not otherwise be able to go. The money would be used to pay for their travel costs, dormitory, and food. We need the funds as soon as possible so we can offer families financial aid for our 2017 summit. We also hope to add professional educators to our staff to make 2017 a complete success!
Thank you from our whole Board of Directors and staff!
