Asher's Medical and Relief Fund

On January 19th, Emily and Jordan Lawson packed up their bags, installed two car seats in their minivan, and headed to the hospital to welcome their beautiful twins into this world. Isabel Faith and Asher Robert were born on the morning of Friday, January 20th. Mom and babies were all healthy and happy, and dad was completely in love!
Two days after birth, doctors discovered bleeding in Asher's brain and he was immediately transported to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City. He was placed in the most intensive-care bay of the NICU.Emily and Jordan made the difficult and painful decision to leave Izzy in Des Moines (still awaiting discharge from the hospital) and went with Asher in the ambulance to Iowa City. Their hearts were heavy as they dealt with the unknowns of Asher's health and being separated from their newborn baby girl. Two hours from home, they now had no vehicle and were not even able to pack bags. They spent one night in a hotel, but by God's grace, were able to get a room at the Ronald McDonald House. (Praise God for such a wonderfully generous charity!) Shortly after, Emily's family was able to bring Izzy to Iowa City and reunite her with mom and dad. They are so thankful to be together and are loving learning to share life together!
For the past month, Emily and Jordan have been able to watch Asher steadily stabilize and improve. Unfortunately, he continues to have blood/fluid in his brain and more surgery is likely. He is expected to remain in the hospital for at least the next 2-3 weeks.
Being away from home and normalcy has been difficult, but Jordan has now reached the end of his paid paternity leave. Thankfully, their local church has been willing to assist with some ongoing exspenses, but medical bills will undoubtedly continue to accrue.

It is our hope to raise additional funds to assist with deductibles, medical bills and costs associated with being away from home. We thank yo in advance for your generous support for the Lawsons. Please know that every dollar you are able to contribute is a little burden lifted off our  friends.

Emily and Jordan, we're all praying for you and we're all here for you.  Can't wait for you to return home! We love you guys!
