Reduce/Care for a Feral Cat Colony

Donation protected
This is a chance to help people and animals at the same time. Animal Awareness & Assistance has been helping a retired couple reduce the size of a feral cat colony (through TNR and adoptions) and care for those remaining.  Now, however, the couple have had and continue to have some major help issues (and therefore, major medical bills). We need your help in order to continue!

There were about 200 cats in the colony when they began in 2007.  They have reduced the size by finding homes for the kittens and TNR. Some of the the TNR were funded be a small grant, but they covered the cost of the others from personal funds. There are now 25-30, with about 5 that still need TNR.

The couple has 4 indoor and 2 indoor-outdoor cats that are former ferals. These 6 have medical problems, which is why they weren’t adopted. On a typical day, they are feeding these (who need special, medicated foods) plus the remainder of the outside ferals. The cats have been costing them about $1,200 a month, with about 70% of it in vet care.

They have shelter.  They just need your help to provide food and vet care. All funds will go directly to the vet office that is providing care (at a discount) or to purchase food that will be delivered. Please help these remaining cats and support this couple at the same time, as they have already done so much.
