Climbing Snowdon For Andrew

Donation protected
Andrew is 34 and has a rare genetic disease called Friedreich's ataxia. On Jan 8th this year he became very ill with pneumonia and was admitted to Intensive Care. He has been in hospital since with breathing and cardiac problems. He has also suffered considerable brain damage which it is hoped he will recover from. He has been fighting very hard with the help and support of his family, friends, hospital staff and especially his loyal carers. His family feel strongly that he needs familiar people around him to help him recover, especially his mental function - he was very bright and intelligent. A month after admission, the Council stopped paying for his care. His carers, also very good friends, have been amazing, visiting very regularly. However, they do need their expenses covered such as constant travel costs, food etc - they can't live on thin air!

Joanna and Katharine, his cousins, and Anna, Katharine's sister in Law , are planning to climb Mount Snowdon on August 23rd, the day before Andrew's birthday in order to help raise money for him. We believe that having family and familiar friends/carers with Andrew is essential for his recovery. Joanna, Katharine and Anna have decided to take on this challenge to help.

We are asking you to give whatever you can to help with Andrew's recovery.

THANK YOU !
