Mark's rehabilitation funds

Donation protected

Last year, on January 6th, Gaby´s dear husband, Mark suffered a stroke while vacationing in Florida with his family. Mark was taken to a hospital where he was immediately operated on and subsequently induced into deep coma, hoping for the swelling of his brain to subside . At that time, we didn't know that the recovery process would be so long and difficult. Gaby managed to relocate Mark to his home country, Australia. A month later, she and her children joined him. At that time we thought that with good care and therapies, Mark would significantly improve his condition, but things have not turned out as hoped. Mark and Gaby receive some assistance from the Australian government, but they are no longer willing to cover for the quality of care Mark needs and have requested for him to be moved to an alternate care facility where therapies will no longer be included. Without these therapies Mark will be sentenced to a life in bed, locked in his own body, unable to communicate, and very likely regressing in all areas where he had made significantly improvements during the last year. Their children would sadly watch their father slowly fade back away from them and into a vegetative state. Every day, during the morning Gaby goes to the hospital to take care of Mark, and in the evenings she visits with their children. On weekends the family spends quality time visiting Mark. We need your help to fight for Mark's right to keep his rehabilitation program, in a facility where Fer and Juanchi can go visit their father. We need your help so Gaby can continue taking care of her husband and their children, who all need her right now. Any donation, however small, will give Gaby and her family hope, and mostly peace of mind, which is what they really need in order to focus on what´s really important: give Mark the chance to come back home and be together again.
