CardiffSTAR members old and new! Our 2019 committee and members are working hard to fundraise for our society outgoings -
1) mainly our monthly rent at the Trinity Centre to run our continuing weekly conversation classes with local asylum seekers and refugees.
2) Our events and trips with the refugees and asylum seekers we volunteer with.
Alongside our fundraising efforts big and small (from Refugee Rhythm's down to bake sales and much more) we are running extremely tight to budgets, and receive meagre grants from the SU (as they can only grant up to our modest membership income).
STAR National and the SU agree that reaching out to our 1.4 thousand facebook members and anyone else who may care, may be a solid way to get the society accounts in a less perilous (albeit well functioning) situation. If every new and old FB member paid just £1, we'd be set for the year, and able to continue to fundraise to guarantee a good financial position to leave the society in next year.
We will continue to work hard to raise funds and put on fantastic events, but your consideration and support, can help us continue to provide the service we all care about so much.
