Replacing the d20Monkey iMac

Dear d20Monkey Team...

Hi, I'm Brian. I am the cartoonist/nerd behind the webcomic d20Monkey and I need some help.

My beloved 2009 iMac, the machine behind eight-years of comics, cartography, and freelance work is approaching its final days. Aside from hardware issues, my old buddy is falling far behind in performance and it is greatly affecting my workflow and as a full-time freelancer, my workflow is my livelihood.

I do not have much in the way of savings or extra cash on hand after my cross-country move. It's not easy for me to do, but I am at the point where I need to ask for help from friends and readers,  make a change, and get a new computer to keep myself working quickly and efficiently.

What does the cash go towards?
Every dollar goes towards a beefy new iMac with a ton of power and ram to last me for several years with a full-warranty/Applecare protection. I like Macs, I know Macs, and I can work on Macs. I kept my 2009 running and as beefy as possible, for as long as possible and I plan to do the same with my next Mac as well.
