Perspective Ink: for Mental Illness

As a student of Psychology, I have always had a passion to help those suffering from mental illnesses. I believe they are very important, but often overlooked, illnesses. This needs to be changed. This summer I thought, “why wait to make the change when I can start a business to raise money for it now!” So I did just that and began planning every step! I created this campaign to raise money for an online business called Perspective Ink.

Perspective Ink will feature unique t-shirt designs related to mental health. What makes these designs unique is that they are sketched from scratch, so they cannot be found anywhere else! These t-shirts will be shipped anywhere in Canada and the United States.

So what does Perspective Ink do to help combat Mental Illness?

50% of the profits will go towards mental health research, specifically the Canadian Mental Health Association and Mental Health America!

(The remaining 25% will go to the amazing sketch artist, and 25% towards operations)

The concept itself is very simple, though, as a student, it’s difficult to have enough money to launch an attractive and highly functional site without help. After doing my research day and night, I’ve put together a list of costs that will be associated with starting this online business. Below is the list explaining where the funding will be going.

$100 for registration/licensing
$1200 to buy and print the first 3 designs to be featured (Stock of 50 for each)
$150 for custom iron-on labels
$200 for custom tear-proof polyethylene mailers
$50 5-year domain name registration
$300 for professional photography to display t-shirts on website

$1000 – $5000 for website development /maintenance /marketing (depending on how much funding is received)
