Refugee Aide - Volunteer Support

Donation protected

We collect, we organise, we drive, we deliver, we care. No politics, just humanitarian action where it is most needed.

Recently  our activities have spread to assisting transit centres (monasteries, charitable foundations etc) who work to provide skills and training for those seeking to gain asylum in France.

At the last estimate, more than 10,500 people are inhabiting waste ground around Calais and Dunkerque. Official agencies are struggling to cope with the volume and burden. Government action goes only as far feeding 1/4 of the camp everyday, and only in the past few months has systematic processing of asylum applications begun. These humans are hungry, desperate, dissillusioned but above all grateful. They have found safety in our country, they have found compassion. It is my goal and the goal of the team to make sure that we continue to help.

This is is where you come in.

Every aid mission has (with the exception of ad-hoc donations) been funded by the team. Fuel costs, road tolls, boxes, tape, phone calls etc have been paid for without hesitation and with kindness by those in the team. We wish to continue our efforts and need help.

With donations we can react fast to the ever changing needs of the camp.  With donations we can commit to returning to the camps to fix longer term projects such as irrigation, semi permanent cooking systems, bulk-buy essential food supplies. We can do a lot more.

Having been regularly over over the past months I can honestly tell you that small actions make a big difference.
With a team of 3 people we were able to sort and categorise a storage area of medical supplies so the Medical teams can do what they need to, administer meds and heal.
With our small team we were able to react to intel in the camp about a new born. We located and supplied the scared family, ensured sanitation and hygiene products for mum and baby. We were able to do this because we were there.

We provide direct support for L'Auberge des Migrants, Medicines du Monde and all NGO's who need spare hands on the ground in Calais. We coordinate aid and relief in Paris. We are where people need us to be.

The difference these things make to the real life conditions in the camps cannot be underestimated. You can make a difference by donations of food, your time or if you prefer, money. Or if you decide you don't want to help, that's OK too. Click to donate money, email me to arrange dropping off food or email me if you want to come along and make difference by giving your time.

The decision is yours to make, but be under no illusion, people have died and are starving, cold and in need.  We can make a difference here and now.

Thank you for your consideration.
