Sarah's Cancer-Kicking Fund

On Sunday, July 20th, I went to the ER with severe belly pain and ended up in emergency surgery that Tuesday night. I woke up to find I'd beat the odds (I was told 90% of people die on the table), only to be diagnosed with Stage 3C colon cancer a couple of days later. Although they were able to remove the tumor, the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes.

I had two "Cape/Ox" chemotherapy treatments before my body decided to overreact to the side effects, so I'm about to start a different chemo regimen.  I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to tolerate the treatment and get my chances of the cancer not returning up to 65-70%.

Meanwhile, although I have great insurance, I am still unable to work at this point, and the out-of-pocket portion not covered by insurance is adding up quickly. $10k will give me the funding I need to pay my portion of the medical bills, which includes at least one more surgery next year.
