My Brother Mark's Front Yard - His Retirement
Predicament
In December 2014 my brother Mark retired with his
wife and son to McDonough,Ga. He retired there so he
could be close to his daughter and her husband. He did
this because his wife suffers from ALS and his son is
developmentally challenged. He thought that if
anything happens to him at least there’ll be someone
nearby to take care of them.
He and his wife live on fixed incomes and he had
saved some money for possible emergencies for his
wife. Unfortunately he did have an emergency but it
didn’t have anything to do with his wife. He needed to get a new septic
system for the house. But as it turned out that new
system failed because the engineer and the contractor
really put the system in the wrong place. They put the
system in a storm water run off area and the septic tank
filled with storm water. Then the septic system
backed up and no water could be used. He used money
from his emergency fund trying to find the engineer and
the contractor to sue them but wasn't able to
locate them. Because the septic system was in a storm
water run off area a new system had to be installed.
The new system cost $35,000.00. The system
was so costly because the storm water issue had to be
dealt with. The ground water had to be channeled away.
My brother and his wifelive on a fixed income. His wife
has ALS and is in a wheelchair and this situation has
been particularly hard on her. The money for the septic
system came out of his emergency fund for his wife. He
needs your support to help defray these expenses.
Please help him.
