Princess Delights – All Natural No Sugar No Salt Gourmet Specialty Bakery
I found the perfect location for Princess Delights Bakery at the Heart of Downtown St. Louis, in Laclede’s Landing. I signed the lease in May 2015; purchased over 80% of the equipment; and was getting ready to launch the bakery in August of 2015 when tragedy struck in July that resulted in the suspension of all activities at the new location.
Imagine, for one moment, you are moving bakery equipment with your athletic child, completed work, and less than an hour later, you are at the hospital emergency room and the medical team telling you that your child (never been sick in his live) has less than 24 hours to live.
That’s exactly what happened to me!!
My son suffered a traumatic heat stroke while jogging and upon arrival at the hospital his body temperature was 107.3ºF; had a total organs failure; was intubated; had seizures; and covered up in ice as they tried to save his organs.
Months passed. I lived at the hospital to make sure my son is getting the best care. Since I signed the lease in May 2015, I had to make payments not only to the bakery but also to my home, other expenses and hardly any income was coming in.

Risks and Challenges
We are well aware of the amount of risks and challenges that can arise when planning even a simple launching of a new bakery setup like this.
Once we're funded, we could potentially run into problems with escalating equipment and ingredients costs or difficulties with permits and licensing; not to mention simple lack of traffic. However, Princess Delights has taken considerable steps to mitigate those risks.
Much of the necessary licensing is already in place and in effect and, by leasing space in the heart of downtown St. Louis, Laclede's Landing Community, there should be considerable traffic to draw in, plus the fact that it is the only Bakery in the Landing, and a lot of prospects had expressed interest in buying Princess Delights in wholesale quantities.
If we should run into further unexpected costs or difficulties, Princess Delights owners plan to provide personal funds in order to ensure the project is completed.
