MAKE AN IMPACT

10-year-old Deaglan Carney joined the Canisius College Men’s Division 1 Hockey team through Team IMPACT, which is an organization that is dedicated to “improving the quality of life for children facing life threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.”  Deaglan was diagnosed at four years old with Craniofaringioma, which is a brain tumor sitting on his optic nerve. Although Deaglan had a successful surgery several years ago, this illness has affected his ability to play the sport he loves. We hope to raise not only awareness for this illness, but also money for Team IMPACT. Team IMPACT places children onto a college team to allow them to flourish and help them fight through their respected illness. Although it does not cost the families anything, sponsorships are required for about $2000 to allow a child to be drafted onto a college athletic team. We hope to bring awareness and raise money through the power of influence to place at least one child in the Buffalo area onto another college team. All money raised will be donated to Team IMPACT.
