Help with Sasha's recovery

Don protégé
Sasha's journey.  Three and a half years ago we rescued and adopted Sasha from NOLA Dachshund Rescue, after the loss of our beloved doxie Peanut.  She came up on transport by Greg Mahle of Rescue Road Trips and the moment Greg placed Sasha in my arms it was instant love for all of us.  She was perfect for us and our family and she joined our other doxie Zoey and our cats.  She is a happy sunny dog, very smart and full of mischief, but adopting her opened our hearts (if that were possible) and opened us to a new world of rescue and wonderful new friends through our adopters support group on facebook as well as Rescue Road Trips.  She is smart, so very loving and a handful although she was 10 when we adopted her.
She is now 13 and facing the fight of her life.  She ran away from the house on Sunday afternoon and was gone for over an hour until my neighbor helped locate her.  She seemed fine but woke up Monday morning with a tummy upset and very lethargic.  She worried me so i called our vet and got in right away.  After examining her, our vet gave us some medication for a stomach upset.  No sooner did we get her home and put her down she started to stagger and wobble and go down on her front paws.  I called the vet back and immediately returned to have her admitted for blood work and another exam.  At the end of the afternoon the office called to say that she had extreme pain in her neck and weakness in her front arms and prescribed NSAIDS and nerve pain meds and crate rest.
She could still walk on tuesday and go potty but yesterday she seemed to lose more function and couldn't walk at all.  The doc had added a muscle relaxer so we weren't sure what was going on, whether it was related to the drugs or was she becoming paralzyed.  After a long night she peed in her crate and had to be bathed and we took her to our bed to sleep.  There was no improvement so I called our vet and she immediately called Pieper Memorial Hospital to get her into the neurologist.
She is resting there tonight and scheduled to have an MRI to determine what is wrong and what we should do next.  We are terrified for her and not ready think of the worst.  Surgery may not help her and her quality of life is our utmost concern.  But if she doesn't have a severe injury then maybe crate rest and meds might do it.
So far the cost is $3000 and that's just what has gone on the last 4 days and the MRI tomorrow.  And i had to put $2000 on a credit card and we can't afford it but we have to know.  Your help would be so deeply appreciated so that we can care for our dear sweet Sasha.  She is one of those dogs that just charms everyone she meets with those sweet kisses of hers.
She has made our world so much better.  Thank you so much for any support you may be able to give.
