Non-profit stat for Angel Gowns

My name is Linda and I sew angel gowns for babies who are born way to early for this world.
For about a year now I have been making the little burial gowns for families who have lost their child to either premature birth, stillborn, born to early, or to miscarriage.
Each dress is made from donated wedding dresses and formals. Each dress is donated to NICU's, hospitals and funeral homes. The dress is to be donated to the parents that have just lost their child, in order to help ease the process of finding an outfit for burial or as a keepsake.
I hear so many stories from families concerning have a baby that is not full term and having to find an outfit for the child. Most have a hard time. Most find a premie sleeper that is way to big for the child. Most struggle to even have to make this decision without any guidance as where to find something.
I am to the point where I need to apply for non-profit status as soon as possible. It can cost up to $1000.00 or less. I don't have the funds to cover it at this time due I am not working at the moment because I am helping to take care of my grandson who has some health issues at this time.
The rest of the money I am looking for is just to help with supplies and such. I do have some out of pocket expenses for notions and ribbons, presentation boxes, etc.
To be able to help these parents who are grieving by providing a dress/outfit for their child is simply undescribable. I pray that none of these dresses ever have to be used but knowing that there is a great need and they will be, just keeps the sewing machine needle going.
Being able to go to a non-profit status will help with the purchases that I do need to make and I can provide a donation receipt to those who ask for one.
