Colin also got back on the track last weekend to support a friend. Instinct took over and coach Colin got to work making adjustments for Don during his attempts haha :) it was absolutely great to see Colin back in pole vault community. I know he has his eyes set on getting back vaulting as soon as the doctors will let him. Being just 13 weeks out, I'd say we may have to wait a bit for that :)
Our family is so blessed to have you all supporting us. You all are part of the reason we have come this far this quickly and thank you is not enough, but thank you!
Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
This is great news! Thanks for updating. Your story went out to everyone in the vaulter community and I know we are all excited and relieved to see such progress!

I do not know Colin, but his story has been shared through Facebook via a friend of a friend. My boyfriend suffered a TBI just over a year ago during a snowboarding accident at Bear Mountain (my picture is a current one of us within the last month). All of Colin's experiences are far too familiar to me. 2 weeks in a coma, 1 month in the ICU, watching fluctuating ICP numbers, breathing tubes, sedatives, etc. I stuck by his side as I watched him endure months of therapy, learning to breath, walk, talk, and eat all over again. There are a few reasons why I am writing: first and foremost, to Colin's family, you need to know that you are not alone. It may feel like you are fighting an impossible battle that you know nothing about, but there is so much information on the web and there are so many support groups out there that can answer a lot of the questions or concerns you may have (I follow a few support groups on Facebook). Also, based on the above passages on his progress, I am confident that he WILL wake up and am praying that he does. He is moving in all of the positive directions that my boyfriend did. Which leads me to my next topic: to all of Colin's friends who are visiting him in the hospital right now, it is 10 times more important that you continue to be in his life after he wakes up. You all need to know and be prepared for the fact that he will be different, but it is so important that you continue to love, respect, and support him through his progress every step of the way, because he is in for a long road to recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you Colin and to your family!!! May you be blessed with an amazing and speedy recovery!

Thank You to everyone for their prayers and support of our grandson, Colin and our family at this time. It is overwhelming to see the amount of people that this 19 year has touched. Those of you who have meet him or know him, understand how very special this young man is. Our faith is our strength and please continue praying for " Colin" and our family. Thank you again for your support, it truly helps Stephanie and Chris when they read your messages.
My son does pole vault at Vista and was very shaken when this happened, Colin is in our thoughts and prayers! Thank you for the updates on Colin's recovery.
From a fellow 49er athlete and Murrieta community member I wish Colin a strong and healthy recovery. Good to see he has a lot of strong family and friends behind him.
