Help Alex and Emily Adopt a Child
Donation protected
Hello friends and family! As some of you already know, we are adopting a child.
After several years of trying to conceive, countless doctor visits, invasive treatments and no concrete answer, having a biological child isn’t in the cards for us right now. Luckily the world is full of children who do not have the opportunity for a good future and we are confident that we could provide that for one of them.
Emily is already an expert mother. She has been working with kids for her entire life, many of them with special needs and loves them more than anything. She has been daydreaming about how we are going to raise our kids and what they are going to do when they grow up.
She tells me I will be a good father as well. I have been building a video game and board game collection for many years. Also, I was a child once so I have very good experience knowing exactly what I need to do to ensure a child gets the support it needs.
The catch is adoption is actually pretty expensive. The estimated cost for a local (non-international) adoption is ~$20,000. Granted we will dodge the pre-natal medical expenses that come with a pregnancy, but none of the adoption costs are covered by insurance and it all needs to be payed out of pocket. We are looking into the adoption tax credit but it will still be a substantial cost.
We have started the adoption process and are working with a wonderful local agency. We are really looking forward to being parents! Any donation is appreciated and we’d love your support on this journey!
