Reggie Levy-No One Fights Alone!

In January of 2009 Reggie was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma (cancer of the eye), and underwent Plaque Brachytherapy (Radiation to the eye). In Aprill of 2009 tests revealed that the treatment had eliminated the Melanoma in the eye. This last September, while at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for routine checkups, it was diagnosed that the Ocular Melanoma had metastasized (moved) to the liver by way of the bloodstream; putting Reggie's Ocular Melanoma at Stage 4.

Reggie immediately started a treatment plan which consists of Immunotherapy (through an IV) every three weeks in Rochester and daily doses of clinical trial medication to complement one another. The purpose of Immunotherapy is to boost the natural immune system to help fight the tumors and cancer cells. The effects of the treatment plan will not be known until late December when another MRI, PT and blood work is performed. At that time, it will be decided whether to continue with present treatment or weigh other options available for the Ocular Melanoma.

I am hoping through this page and the benefit that we will be able to help raise funds for my parents to offset any medical expenses, travel expenses to Mayo, and any other financial burdens they may find themselves in through this journey.
