It started out looking like this:
For the past year, Interchange Colombia has been working to create a small library for children in an old hacienda in the coffee growing community at the foot of the sacred mountain, Quininí.
So much has been done. The weeds are gone, walls have been repaired, and Interchange and the kids have painted a beautiful mural that depicts the coffee growing process from flower to cup.
What this library now needs are things to make it more user-friendly. Can’t you picture a hammock in the corner? A colorful rug? Some simple solar lighting? Shelves lined with new, fun books in both Spanish and English? We seek to transform this old room into a welcoming space for the community to enjoy for years to come.
We seek to raise $1000 to make this library beautification dream a reality. You can rest assured that 100% of your donation will go to directly benefit the kids of Qunininí. We are all volunteers and believe in supporting the goals of this small community to educate and inspire the young people who live there.
We will get to work as soon as we raise enough money to begin.
All donors will receive a personal thank you note and a link to the photo gallery of the work when it is complete.
