Camp Tanzania

Introduction

Hi, thanks for stopping by. My name is Sid Nandula. I have volunteered to be part of an international association called Camps International. This association aims to encourage students like me to participate in fundraising for people in need around the world.

I will be going with a group of people on a 4-week charitable expedition to Tanzania, to assist local communities.

What made me choose this project?

I was strongly influenced by Camp Tanzania to help local communities get access to basic needs including food and water. Imagine not having access to food or water for an entire day, which is almost common for a typical local Tanzanian. Not only that, people in Tanzania suffer from a lack of sanitation and proper infrastructure therefore, to help make a difference in the lives of the locals, I have decided to choose this project.

What is the aim of the Project?

My group and I will be going around different parts of Tanzania in search of improving the wellbeing of the locals. We do this by building and reconstructing houses, making sure toilets have a great sanitation level, providing children with the facility to go to school for adequate education and what I believe to be most important is, giving them basic supplies like food and water. We don’t stop there, even the wildlife of Tanzania is becoming vulnerable. To prevent this we will be protecting the ecosystems and help preserve the environment.

How I plan to fundraise?

Recently, I knocked on people’s houses to kindly ask them to help me fundraise, and most of them returned to me with a contribution. I plan to do a walkathon in the future. I also plan to do a cake sale in my school to help me fund my project.

How can you contribute?

By just donating a minor amount you can make a massive difference to the wellbeing of the locals in Tanzania. Not only do we aid the locals, but we also protect the wildlife from threats elsewhere.

Overall, everyone deserves to have access to basic needs like food, water, shelter and education. These common necessities can’t be found in the lives of the locals in Tanzania, hence Camps International gave me along with many other students the opportunity to go and assist others' troubles.
