The Gardiner Farmers’ Market is a collaborative initiative committed to providing community access to fresh, local foods; supporting local farmers, artisans and food producers; educating the public about food and agriculture; fostering connections between farmers and consumers; and supporting the local economy.
For the past 8 years, Gardiner Farmers' Market has been providing a connection between farmers and the community, information on nutrition and cooking, and social connection in a vibrant seasonal weekly gathering.
Two years ago we began accepting SNAP, and instituted a SNAP Match program during the 2015 season. This allows more locals to stretch their food budgets and to provide dense nutrition to their families.
In 2016 Gardiner Farmers' Market plans to continue to provide our community with the best in local foods, weekly music, our popular Kids' Club, the even more popular Frequent Buyer rewards, and to strengthen our focus on local food access for all. Our organization relies on grant monies and donations in-kind from area support organizations. In order to strengthen our service to our customers we are asking you to consider a donation today. The following is a list of priorities that your generosity will support:
Permanent Signage on The Common
Weekly Musician Stipend
Website Fees
Transaction Fees for Debit/Credit Card Swipes
Kids' Club
Frequent Buyer Program
Special Events (Appreciation Days, Halloween etc)
Membership in Maine Federation of Farmers' Markets
