To whom it may concern,
On April 21st, I will be running my first ever 2014 Boston Marathon in order to raise money for Boston College's Campus School. Although it will be a challenge for me to complete this race, I will be especially driven by the excitement that it will benefit such a worthy cause.
I am asking family and friends to consider sponsoring me for this event. Two of my ambitious goals are to complete the race and second to meet my personal goal of raising $250 for the Campus School. I would greatly appreciate your kind consideration by making a donation toward this goal.
For those who do not know, my father has been diagnosed with hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver. This is a great concern because of the burden of illness and death they cause and the potential for outbreaks and epidemic spread. This leads to chronic disease and is the common cause of liver cirrhosis and cancer. This has affected me greatly because no child wants to hear that their parent only has a certain amount of time to live. Running my first marathon instills me aspects of life such as hope and determination to never give up. I dedicate this to my father. Moreover, your help and support means so much.
