Re - Fuel The Bern 5k for Asylum Seekers in Maine

WHAT: This is a 5k Run/Walk Fundraiser to simply aid in helping Asylum Seekers coming to Maine, who are seeking refuge from war torn countries and crippling poverty. All funds raised will be donated to the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, check out this great organization here: https://www.welcomeimmigrant.org/ Suggested donation $5 or more per participant. Please email me after you donated [email redacted] and include full name, age, and gender so I can assign a bib number for you and fill out all the necessary info . WHERE/WHEN: Back Cove parking lot of Portland, ME. On Sunday, February 24th, 2019 at 9am. Race day registration ( same day registration ends at 9:30). Race starts at 10:00 am. * Awards go to 1st/2nd place female/male overall. Post race refreshments include donuts donated from local bakeries The Holy Donut and Tony's Donuts. Also, hot coffee, tea, water, bananas PB and Jelly with bagels will be available. A heater tower and a tarp pop up tent will be set up to keep people warm and out of any potential wind while they wait for results, and can enjoy the refreshments and listen to local musicians take turns playing music with a mini 'open-mic' style format. First 20 registrants receive a free '3rd Annual Re-Fuel The Bern 5k' race T-shirt with a custom design and logo created by a local artist.
