Hi guys so I know I've only just turned 20 which is a milestone in itself and I shouldn't be wishing my life away but... Next year I'm the big 21. & for someone with Cystic Fibrosis that's a pretty damn good age. The reality is this has only been possible due to the amazing advances in treatment over the years. Which has been able to move forward due to public funding. The Cystic Fibrosis trust isn't a government funded charity. Therefore, it solely relies on the public to help make these advances possible. I know without my amazing paediatric (children's) CF team, and the adult CF team at Wythenshawe I wouldn't have made it this far. So, anyway what I'm trying to get at is I have exactly 1 year, 365 days, or 52 weeks to be exact until my big 21st. And at this moment in time a marathon to raise money just isn't possible (unless you have any spare lungs to borrow me for the day???) So in the meantime I would love if my friends, and family would like to donate to my page (link attached) so instead of birthday presents for my 21st my main aim is to raise £2,100. This will be for both the CF units at Wythenshawe hospital. My idea is that if I raise that amount which would be amazing (may I add) half of the funds will go to Starlight children's ward where I was looked after up until I was 17 with my CF care, and then the other half to go to the amazing team at 'Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre' where I am looked after currently for my CF care. As now I'm classed as an "adult" (although I do not feel it). I am also looking at doing other things to raise money for these amazing units but I thought this would be a great start... You can donate as little, or as much as you want. Literally when I say it anything is better than nothing. It would also be most, and massively appreciated if we could share this to help get to my target before next year comes. This money would help so much for both these units. To help CF patients when they are in hospital. It will help go towards things like games, colouring books and many more things. To hopefully keep patients occupied and sane whilst they are in for a mere 2 weeks or more for intense physio therapy, and IV treatment to hopefully help that stay be a little easier.
