Mission: UMASS CHRISTMAS!

Our family would like to honor the 1st anniversary of Jayden's passing by paying it forward...
This year Jayden's Keys 4 Happiness is launching MISSION: UMASS CHRISTMAS! and we need your help.
The amazing staff on the pediatric 5th floor always makes sure that Santa finds all the children to deliver presents and spread Christmas cheer. As Santa's helpers this year, our goal is to deliver 150 new stuffed animals and raise at least $2000 to purchase various comfort items and gifts for the kids, their siblings, and parents. We want the families who can't be home for the holidays to feel special and loved. As a family who has spent a few holidays on the 5th floor we know how difficult it can be despite the wonderful efforts of the staff.
So thinking back to what we missed or would have loved while we spent the holidays in the pediatric wing, a few things came to mind...
Our Christmas tree! We missed enjoying our tree and thought wouldn't it be wonderful if we could provide that for every child! We've spoken to the staff and they would permit a small artificial tree with battery operated lights for those who celebrate!
On Jayden's final stay he was given the pillowcase (seen in the picture) and that made him feel special. So we would like to replenish the hospital's stock. Jayden's brother, Brody, treasures that pillowcase, he sleeps on it every night. We knew leading up to Christmas that our beautiful little man wouldn't make it and he would journey to Heaven soon. Jayden's buddy had the fore thought to bring his's sheets from home and I broke down crying. What a beautiful gesture. I wanted to make Jayden's transition as comfortable as possible, and who knew that simple little gesture of our baby passing on sheets that weren't stained or torn, would make such a big impact on our hearts. We would like to provide that for other families who may not be bringing home their child, a new sheet set for those special families that need that small gesture of love during such a hard time.
We realize these are some lofty goals but we have faith that many of you would give to such wonderful cause. No amount is too small to make the kids, who are hospitalized during the holiday season, feel special.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you'd like to learn more about Jayden's story please see our Facebook Page. We also have a wish list for the hospital on Amazon under Deidra Carlson... link below.
