Dignity Ball and Feast
Donation protected
We’re going to have a Dignity Ball to not only feed the homeless for a night but also give them an evening they won’t forget. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and this is a night to share that with those less fortunate.
There will be a fully catered dinner for the homeless, ordered off a menu, put on by area restaurants that we are soliciting donations from. We’re looking to secure a ballroom that will be decorated with balloons, candles, and all the other trappings of a formal event. Local waitstaff wearing white shirts and black bow ties will be recruited from area restaurants to serve our special guests.
There will also be a pre-event piece where we’ll bring in donated clothes so our less fortunate neighbors can “shop” for the everyday items that are required for survival on the streets.
Depending on the location, we’re hoping to give them an opportunity to take a shower and get their hair cut by area hairdressers and barbers.
While one special night won’t necessarily change their lives, the hope is that by showing our neighbors empathy and love and giving them a night to remember, that they will wake up the next morning with renewed hope for their future.
Any leftover funds will be donated to area soup kitchens.
