Hurricane Relief - MCLB Albany, GA
Hey everyone,
I have started this GoFundMe in an effort to raise funds to help purchase supplies and equipment needed that are critical to the hurricane relief effort in Albany, GA.
On October 10th, Hurricane Michael made landfall in the Florida panhandle as a devastating category 4 hurricane. By October 11th, southwest Georgia was receiving wind gusts of up to 81 mph as Michael moved northeast towards the Carolinas. Within that path of destruction was Albany, GA, home of Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany and hundreds of civilian and government workers that are the cornerstone to Marine Corps logistics worldwide.
Immediately following the hurricane, teams of Marines set out into the local community to help clear away fallen trees and debris, with special focus and attention to those affected from MCLB Albany, in an effort to help and support those very people who strive every day to support the United States Marine Corps.
A great deal of progress has been made, but an even greater amount of work has yet to be done. While we dont lack in the initiative and enthusiasm to help our neighbors and co-workers in the Albany community, we do lack in the proper equipment needed for the continuing cleanup efforts.
Contributions to this GoFundMe will be used in the purchase of these much needed tools, so that our teams can be safer and more effective in their efforts as they continue to clear trees and debris.
On behalf of Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, and all of those impacted by the support that your contributions will provide, I thank you.
