Toileting Emergency at My School!

Hunter Elementary School in the Norris Square neighborhood of Philadelphia is a small, friendly neighborhood school with a little over 500 students. We are a Title 1 school and 100% of our student body is classified as "economically disadvantaged." Almost all of our students are students of color.
Because of our wonderful wheelchair-accessible facility, we have a large number of special education supports and services for students with complex needs. About 25% of our student population is comprised of students with special needs. As it stands right now, only one of the two bathrooms frequently used by complex needs students has the toilet support needed for all of our students to use the facilities.
Unfortunately having these kids attend school in our building doesn't always mean that we have the amount of funding we need for classroom essentials. For us, having every complex need bathroom have a toilet support that the kids can use in their own learning environment is essential.
Using the bathroom as independently as possible is a fundamental measure of dignity for many people with disabilities. Some of our students lack the trunk control to use the bathroom without a hi-back toilet support. We do not currently have the funds to buy the toilet support we need and are spending singificant valuable instruction time relocating the students who need toileting support to a bathroom that has one. This is an essential item in the classroom of a student with complex needs.
Even though this Go Fund Me is in my name, I intend to install the toilet support in the classroom where it is needed and leave it there permanently, even if I relocate schools. We are trying to make the Hunter programs model special education programs and while I am employed there I want to improve the facilities and instruction as much as I can. The funds I have listed include tax and shipping for the item.
