The sibling relationship is generally the most significant relationship a person will have throughout their life. In the United States there are approximately 400,000 kids in foster care. Of those children, almost 300,000 of them are separated from one or more of their siblings.
To date through Camp To Belong Colorado, we have served approximately 102 kids , with many of those kids attending camp multiple years.

"Elevating Connections is the next logical step for our siblings after they attend Camp To Belong."
For one amazing week our siblings separated in foster care get to spend time with their siblings just being kids. But, what happens after camp? Many of our siblings will never live together again and they may emancipate without ever finding a permanent home.
Elevating Connections has been created so we can offer our kids a permanent connection with their siblings and their communities before and after they leave foster care. In addition to Camp To Belong, we offer sibling connecting events throughout the year to allow our kids to spend time together doing fun activities .

"Being separated from your sibling feels like a part of you is missing."
My name is Tamisha and I am a former foster youth. In 2014 I became a part of the Camp to Belong Colorado family because I understand what our youth at Camp go through.
From age 2 to 18 I was separated from my brother multiple times. From 14 until I aged out of the child welfare system I didn't have a permanent connection with my biological family or my one and only brother.
Reuniting siblings through Camp gives our youth a chance to create lasting childhood memories together. We focus 100% on helping to strengthen the sibling bond between our campers.
