The Flint Restoration Group, Inc. is a socio-economic non-profit committed to the restoration and renewal of the City of Flint. Our primary focus is on urban blight, water purification solutions and vocational training.
We have created a socio-economic model that involves non-profits such as the Cofy Community Center, New Jerusalem and other grassroot block groups. We teamed up with for profit businesses such as H.E. Powell Builders, Michigan Security and ARTESIAN WATER TECHNOLOGIES. H.E. Powell Builders is licensed, bonded and insured. They will provide the installers needed to ensure safe installation of any system. We are raising money to obtain, install and service WHOLE HOUSE WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR NEEDED HOUSEHOLDS IN THE CITY OF FLINT. We want to raise money to offer the systems to needed Flint Residents for FREE. The model involves paying for the unit, having it installed, signing up Flint residents for the system, maintaining data on its use and coordinating with the installer to have 5 yr FREE service available. The Community of Family and Youth Center will be used to screen a limited number of Flint residents to install the units along with the professionals in an On the Job Training capacity. The contractors have agreed in writing to hire as many City of Flint Residents as qualified and possible to help install the FREE systems. This model is performanced based. It will deploy at the pace of funding.
Artesian Water have been pilot testing systems for over six months. The test have come back non-detect for lead and non-detect for copper. These systems are heavy metal removal systems.
These Whole House Water Purification Units are point of entry systems designed to purify ALL THE WATER that enters the home. A disinfectant component has been added to the unit to increase its ability to kill bacteria as the unit backwashers itself. The price per unit cost involving purchasing, installing ,maintaining data and any service as described above is ONLY $1900.00 per unit. The unit will come with a 5 yr maintenance free warranty from the manufacturer. As a non-profit our goal is to mitigate water use concerns by offering this system for FREE to homes hit hardest with lead and copper. Especially homes with children, elderly and the sick and shut in. Also, we don't know what we don't know. Any data on resident utility of satisfaction and current water testing now avalible to any Flint resident will be maintianed by us for any system we help a resident receive for FREE (We intend on maintaining such data for one year on a quarterly basis as long as free testing is still available for residents).
We are asking for funding to offer 500 units to needed Flint residents for FREE.
