We are at risk of being shut down March 2019 as the property we currently lease is being sold by the owner.
This news comes as a complete shock and great sadness to the Open My World Family! Many of the kids will be heartbroken as OMW, is so much more than just another therapy session for them. It’s a place where they grow and develop in ways many never thought possible. With that said, as a last resort, we are seeking public support to help keep OMW running for these well deserving clients, horses, and volunteers.
Like most Non-Profits, Open My World does not have carry over enough funds to purchase a property or to relocate the organization as it stands today.
Our goal is to raise $25K+ for OMW to keep our operations running on a property that best suits the needs of the clients and families.
Unlike many other Therapeutic Riding centers, OMW is unique in that each session is individually tailored to the rider’s abilities by a PATH Certified Instructor and often have anywhere from 1-4 volunteers assigned to that individual (depending his/her needs). It’s truly a family atmosphere where every challenge is worked through and every success is celebrated!
OMW clients fight every single day to overcome so many challenges that they have no control over and at not fault of their own. This is one place where many of them feel a sense of peace, success, confidence, growth and the loving bond with a horse
If you have ever known or worked with someone with special needs, you know that therapy comes in many forms. Therapeutic riding is more than just therapy for many of these young warriors.
