Anyone who knows my mom knows she has the purest, most loving heart in the world. Over the past 12 years, she devoted herself as a caretaker to her husband and my stepdad, Sol, who had battled numerous illness his entire life. In August of 2017, his health took a turn for the worst and he was in and out of the hospital for the next 11 months with MRSA, kidney failure, congestive heart failure, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.
Ultimately, she was forced to quit her job as he needed care 24 hours a day. A week after giving up her job, Sol passed unexpectedly in their home.My mom has never been one to ask for help. Not because she is too prideful, but because she feels there are others out there who are more deserving than her. But truthfully, she deserves the world.
I am starting this gofundme without her knowledge. Due to his poor health, my stepdad was unable to secure life insurance. Not only is she grieving the loss of her husband of 25 years, she has a heavy burden on her shoulders following his passing and whether she wants to admit it or not, she needs help. Even if you are unable to contribute financially, please say a prayer for her and leave words of kindness and encouragement that I can share with her when I eventually disclose this to her.
