Premier of 'GMO OMG' in Ocala, Fl
Join host David Kuhn, M.D. and very special guest, filmmaker Jeremy Seifert for a red carpet movie premier event. On March 7th, the Marion Theater will be showing the Central Florida premier of Jeremy Seifert's latest film 'GMO OMG'. This event and Florida GMO awareness is funded by you!
Jeremy Seifert changed the way we thought about food waste in America in his compelling and original documentary "Dive". (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1490637/?ref_=fn_al_tt_10) Now we are proud to support his new movie "GMO OMG", in which Jeremy and his family again invite us into their lives to share in their family's journey to find out what is in the food we are eating, whether or not it is safe, and why we aren't allowed to know about it.
His son Finn may very well be the star of the show. His fascination with seeds is deep and soulful. It is easy to imagine that this special boy will do great things in the world. Already he is interested in cultivating seeds and watching things grow. The Seifert children serve to remind us who we are working so hard to protect.
GMOs (Genetically modified organisms) are not natural. They are not safe, and they cannot be controlled. (http://www.responsibletechnology.org/health-risks) How did they get into so much of our food? We did not demand the right to know. Now, with more and more dangerous, unnatural GMOs waiting to come down the pipeline, including GM mosquitos, soon to be released in Florida, it is more vital than ever that we take back our right to know what is in our food, and therefore our right to choose whether or not to eat it. Why is that so hard to accomplish? Major food manufacturers, big biochemical companies like Monsanto, and grocery manufacturers know that you won't buy food that contains GMOs once you know more about them.
