Keep in mind when donating that funds collected are in Canadian dollar.

This is a surprise for Roger’s 50th Birthday. Details below.

Money collected will be donated to the New York Centre for Children in Roger’s name. The certificate will be presented to him in person this fall at his NY Event in November. http://www.newyorkcenterforchildren.org/

As you know Roger portrays a survivor of child sexual abuse on General Hospital. We thought this would be a lovely way to recognize his 50th birthday and his stellar work on GH, by giving back to victims of child abuse in his honor.

I have been in contact with Christine at the NYCC who will be helping facilitate this project. Christine has also been sent the link to the Go Fund Me so she can track our progress and has gratuitously made it so 100% of money collected in this campaign will go to the children, with no overhead taken by the charity.

All money will be collected by me and donated to the NYCC at the end of the campaign. Any fees taken by Go Fund Me will be covered by me; every cent collected will go to the NYCC. A record of the donation will be shared with all who contributed. Everyone’s names will also be presented to Roger with the certificate (unless you would like to remain anonymous).

About NYCC

The New York Center for Children (NYCC) is a child-friendly Center, providing free, comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to victims of child abuse and their families. All of the programs and services at NYCC are completely free of charge. NYCC is a not-for-profit organization that relies on donations to cover the costs of operations. NYCC serves all families, including those without insurance. NYCC serves children from all five boroughs of New York City.

No donation is too small, any amount will help to service these children.

We will be accepting donations until September 13, 2018.

Thank you in advance,

Aislinn

One final update.

Words can not express how grateful we are for your generosity. This money will change the lives of 4 children forever and it’s something to be really proud of. Roger Howarth fans really stepped up and did something incredible here. You all are amazing!!

Since the Go Fund Me is in Canadian, I wanted to share the breakdown of money donated so everyone understands.

The final tally was $13,110 Canadian raised on the GFM page. That is the equivalent to a little over $10,000 USD, which is an incredible amount.

However we have donated $12,000 USD to the NYCC in Roger’s name. A few fans and I pitched in and covered part of the conversion to USD so we could do that.

So in the end $13,110 Canadian was collected on the GFM but $16,168 CND was donated to the NYCC. Making the total USD donation $12,000 and that’s what will appear on the certificate presented to Roger this November.

I have attached a record of the donations. The CND total is at the bottom.

Thanks everyone for your support. Christine at the NYCC thanks you also.

Hey all you generous Roger Howarth fans.
I wanted to send an update.....

Initially we had said that anything over the $10,000 Canadian collected on the GFM would cover the conversion to 10KUSD. But everyone has been so generous that we were able to raise another $1350 CND which is equivalent to $1000 USD. We have donated that money to the NYCC, making the total donation as of today $11,000 USD.

It costs $3000 USD to fund therapy for a child of abuse at the NYCC for one full year. So we have changed our definite FINAL goal to $12,700 CND. That way the last 2k USD (2,700 CND) can be donated and we can fund therapy for 4 children in Roger’s honor.

If you happen to have a spare $10-20 bucks you can donate and/or you can share the Go Fund Me on social media and help us get there, it would be greatly appreciated. The GFM will close at midnight Thursday September 13/Friday September 14th.

Your generosity has been more than we could have hoped for and we thank you for everything you have done to help raise this money.

Aislinn

Ps......

Here is a message from Christine as the NYCC

“I am so grateful for the success of the campaign and the generosity of many for this beautiful gift which truly will make a tremendous positive difference in the lives of the children we serve at NYCC!!! Thank you so much for this incredible donation and for your dedication”

Hey Roger fans,

One more update to clear up any confusion…

A little over 9K Canadian has been collected on the Go Fund Me page. Any amount you donated, was donated in Canadian dollar. So if you donated $100, it was $100 Canadian dollars. Whatever amount you put in was Canadian. You did not donate in your local currency, your Credit Card charge will reflect that.

The 9k coverts to about 6k USD. Since the NYCC is a US charity, the donation will obviously be made in US dollar. If I was to donate the money that was actually collected in USD the donation would be approx $6000.

However, I decided to donate 9K USD to the NYCC and cover the $3000 conversion out of pocket. Another generous fan offered to help me with that.

As of today 6K USD (9K Canadian) has been collected through the Go Fund Me, but I have donated 9KUSD (12K Canadian) to the NYCC. They have that money already donated in Rogers name and I have records of the donation if anyone wants to see them.

Christine at the NYCC is aware of all this and that the Go Fund Me is Canadian currency.

We are hoping to collect another 1K Canadian to donate. Which will be donated in USD and again I will cover the difference in the conversion rates so we can end this campaign at $10,000 USD donated in Rogers name, even though only 7K USD (10K Canadian) will have been collected.

If we happen to go over 10,000 Canadian collected the extra will be used for the conversion to US. As I cannot afford to cover more than that.

I hope this makes sense to everybody. I realize that once we start talking different currencies some people may not understand. But just know if $10,000 Canadian is collected 13,350 Canadian will be donated making the donation 10k USD. Anything over 10k collected will be used to cover that 3K plus conversion.

Thanks for your patience and again I know some may fine this confusing so any questions don’t hesitate to ask aislinn.oleary@live.ca or @SoapTweetsGH

Hey Roger Howarth fans,

Thank you so much for your generous support of this campaign for the New York Center for Children. The response has been amazing and more than any of us involved in organizing this could have hoped for.

As anyone who donated should know, the Go Fund Me is in Canadian dollar. Right now we are sitting at just over 9K Canadian collected, which converts to around 6K USD.

However some of us fans have been covering the USD conversion and will continue to do so (up to 10k). So please keep sharing and/or donating again if you can. We would love to end at 10k for the NYCC.

If anyone has any questions about this as I imagine it may be a bit confusing to non Canadians, you can email me at aislinn.oleary@live.ca or DM on twitter @SoapTweetsGH.

9KUSD (12K Canadian) has been donated so far. With a little less than two weeks left we’d love to end at $10,000 donated.

Thanks again for your generosity.
