Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
Our mission is to build unity within the Muslim community on campus, provide services that improve campus life for Muslim students and create an environment where Muslim students can build a better understanding of Islam as well as giving dawah on campus. We create robust and engaging programming for Muslims & Non-Muslims to learn more about Islam. We strive to build fellowship and understanding between Muslim & Non-Muslim members of the UMN community while working to dispel false perceptions of Islam & Muslims.
The MSA does not receive funding from the University so we are entirely funded by donations. This Ramadan we hope that our community will be able to help us continue our work. Donations will go entirely to beneficial events, Jumuah expenses and other pertinent costs, we will do our best to ensure all funds are spent in a halal manner. Any amount would be sincerely appreciated.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 604
The Prophet also said: "Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 589
“Allah’s Messenger was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Jibril (Gabriel) met him. Jibril used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an.Allah’s Messenger was the most generous person, even more generous than the fair winds.” (Narrated by Bukhari, no. 6)
The messenger of Allah -peace and blessings of Allah be upon him- said:
“Giving alms can erase sins just like water ceases fire.” (Narrated by Tirmidhi, no. 614)
The messenger of Allah -peace and blessings of Allah be upon him- told about the 7 groups of people who will get shade on the day where there is no shade but from Allah, that is the Last Day. One of the groups is:
“a man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given.” (Narrated by Bukhari, no. 1421)
Allah the Exalted decreed,
“Verily those who give alms – be they men or women, -and give Allah a beautiful loan shall be repaid after increasing it many times; and theirs shall be a generous reward.” (Qs. Al Hadid/The Iron: 18)
