"BirdO" Mural for Mrs. Annie Green

Donation protected
I, Maria Wolfe, am raising funds in order to rent a scissor lift, the delivery and pick up of the lift, fuel, and other costs related to the scissor lift needed for the painting of a large mural on the side of a West Baltimore City home.
In March of 2015, a Toronto Street Artist, BirdO, contacted me via Instagram interested in coming to Baltimore City to paint one of his unique and beautiful murals. **Please check out his portfolio: https://birdo.carbonmade.com ** He wanted to share his art and give something to the Baltimore City community. He offered to give his time, travel costs, paint, and supplies related to the completion of a large scale mural to our city. BirdO will be traveling from Toronto over the next week to make it to Baltimore next weekend to paint a mural for Mrs. Annie Green.
Around the time BirdO had gotten in touch with me I had just sent emails to various councilman and contacts in the local art scene & community wondering if there were any vacant homes, residents, home owners, and/or business owners who were interested in a mural on the side of their home/business in Baltimore City, the east or west side. Two areas that are the most crime-ridden and poverty-stricken in Baltimore City, the communities I wanted to help the most.
I was contacted Mrs. Annie Green's son, Ronald whom had been given my name from the local councilman in his mother's West Baltimore community. Mrs. Annie Green has been well known around her neighborhood for many years, having lived and raised her childreN there, she also has had one of the only gardens in the community. In 1999, the Baltimore Sun Paper featured an article on Mrs. Annie Green's garden. The link to the article is: http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1999-10-21/features/9910210276_1_annie-flowers-husband-sam

After conversing through emails with her son, Ronald, we set up a date and time when I could come over to Mrs. Annie's house to meet her, speak with her about BirdO and his style, look at her beautiful garden, get a feel for what she would like by getting to know her and her family by sitting a talking in their home for a little bit, what her favorite flowers and colors are, and tell them about myself and why I wanted to organize this mural for her and her community. I had a wonderful time meeting Mrs. Green, her daughter, and her grandson, they were wonderful people and are very gracious for what we are doing. Their home is on the corner of Pulaski St. & Franklin St. in West Baltimore.
Over the past few months BirdO, Ronald, Mrs. Green, their family, and I have been planning a mural to be painted on the side of their home, a perfect spot for a beautiful mural (we have seen the sketch, but I do not want to release it, it will be a surprise!). The past two weeks we have made the definite plans and dates, painting November 29 through December 2. After looking over everything I realized we needed some sort of lift to be able to complete such a mural and this is where the scissor lift comes in. I am raising these funds to provide for the complete rental use of a 19 foot scissor lift for those dates.
Please help me in providing this scissor lift to use for the completion of a mural in West Baltimore City, this is a way to give something to the community through the beauty of art. This specific area of Baltimore, the west side, has had the highest homicide rate this year, the year with the highest murder rate in decades, and a year that will never and should never be forgetten in our city. Thank you to everyone for your interest, time, and help!
