Zenger Family Adoption

A little over two years ago, God changed Eric and Laura Zenger’s lives in the most incredible way. When their niece was unable to care for her two month old twins, this beautiful couple offered to care for them until their mother was able. That day never came, but of course God knew it wouldn’t, and He had a plan. Laura’s own words will best tell the story, and give you a glimpse into the truly beautiful hearts of this couple....
The BIGGEST lesson that we have learned (so far) in this process is SURRENDERING OUR WILL. Of course it is a daily surrender. Before we made the offer to help we told the Lord, "YOUR WILL, NOT OURS". Just the month prior we had made the HUGE decision to donate our 6 frozen embryos out for adoption. They had been stored for 18 years. We came to this conclusion to do so because we had decided that we were too old to grow our family, too broke to afford more children and determined to be empty nesters and make our own plans. Literally, the month after making that decision, we welcomed a new set of 2 month old twins into our home...not knowing what The Lord had in store. As I look back on it all, I know now that God planted 2 very special seeds (of deep love) in my heart for both Nathan and Emma. From the day that I met them in the hospital, less than 24 hours after their birth, I felt such an overwhelming sense of love and concern for them. I literally thought my heart would burst for love for them. I remember telling Eric those words thru tears as we left them at the hospital with my niece and her boyfriend. Little did we know that in 2 short months... we would be on the adventure of a lifetime with them. I just find it so interesting that here we had our plans set. We had it all "figured out". But God knew better. He supplied all our needs. He gave us strength (despite our age) and He provided monies and clothing and food and support immediately. He is such a good and faithful God. I truly know now that He equips who He calls. We didn't feel prepared. He was preparing our hearts for this time and all the rest fell into place in His perfect timing. It is a day- to- day surrendering of our will to Him. Some days are more difficult than others. Thru this experience... God has revealed Himself to me in a way that I have never seen Him before. If there is anything I can impart to those who are observing our situation, its that He is so much BIGGER than our hopes, or dreams or plans...or fears, insecurities or obstacles! He is FAITHFUL! My Trust in Him has grown by heaps thru all of this and I know for sure that His ways are FAR BETTER ( and more noble) than mine could ever be. His name be GLORIFIED! ❤ ❤
If you know the Zenger family, then you know that God couldn’t have made a better choice for Nathan and Emma. Their grown children Jake and Emily are evidence of how God has gifted them so beautifully to raise kids. I have honored Eric and Laura’s request to set the monetary goal for $3000 to help with immediate needs. But friends, that isn’t nearly enough. The adoption fees alone are nearly twice that. It is my prayer that we bless this couple far above that amount! Please join me in prayer for this amazing, inspiring family, and please...let God use you to bless them far beyond anything they can imagine ❤️
